I know, I know. It's been a long time since i updated. I have no excuses except for life with little man is tiring.

He is 14 months old now and is always on the go.
He is becoming more and more strong willed as the days go by. Its a positive and a negative in my book. It's great because he is getting more and more independent. On the same hand, it is horrible for me because it means if he doesn't want to do something, he throws a hissy fit until he either gets his way or he gets distracted. It's a very repetitive and patience driven life but so worth it. He is my little "angel."

We FINALLY had our first sticky snow this weekend in Kodiak. I have been waiting oh so patiently for it and here it was?! :-) We got Matthew a snow suit from Columbia and some boots and some gloves and we ventured outside.

Matthew was exited at first. He liked the way it looked and the way it felt. He was all good until the wind on our hill started. Unfortunately we live on a hill and our garage blocks the wind from going around house so it all centralizes in our front yard. Poor little man was getting windblown. It only lasted for a few min. but it was the most fun few min. watching my little man play in the snow. :-)

He is quite the mobile man now. he even runs. Well he tries. :-) He is an expert dancer to. We watch yo gabba gabba(his favorite kids show) and all he does is dance the whole time.
It's so funny to see. I'll try to get a video of it later to show. :-) He is also very into reading and being read too. He will sit in the corner with his books and just look and look at the pictures. His favorite books are the touch and go books about all the animals. cam and I are able to almost recite the books word for word at this point, but if it enhances his imagination and joy for reading in the long run, We wont stop. :-)

Matthew even got to really experience Halloween this year. :-) We only got to about 10 houses, but he walked up to them as if he had been doing it forever. He loved his little pumpkin and wouldn't let go of it all night. He was a monkey this year [as lion like the costume looks.] We even let him suck on some gummy worms [It was Halloween !] He loved it. :-)

We are in the beginning stages of the transferring out of Kodiak process. :-) We are priority number 2 so that means we have a HIGH chance of getting one of our top three picks. While we aren't transferring back to California [sorry, i just am selfish and want my husband around more then the boats there allow ;-)], we are trying to stay on the west "coast".
Our top three picks are:

1.Everett, Washington
2. Astoria, Oregon
3. corpus Christi, Texas.

We are really hoping and praying we get our number one. I love Washington and Everett is right in the surrounding area's of Seattle!? After being isolated for the last 3 years, I'm ready to live in the middle of a metropolis, that's for sure!? Wherever God puts us is fine with me in the end. :-)

Anyways, Matthew needs a diaper change. Yuck!
Until next time. :-)

So before Cameron left, we had cake for Matthew's 1st birthday so daddy could celebrate with us. Cameron made fun of my cake though. I tried to simulate "Matthew" on the cake, buuuut we obviously know that matthew is not blue and he doesn't have green eyes. So needless to say, i am not a cake decorator. It was cute though, for being a first birthday cake. :-)
Lets say Matthew looooves cake! :-) Like most 1 yr olds, he really kinda tore into that chocolate cake. I have to say though he really ate pretty cleanly though. Here are some pics of that.

The day before, after church, Cameron went out and tried to catch some fish on his rod he got for Christmas from his dad. :-) He still hadn't caught anything on it yet and he wanted to before he left for patrol.

Well this time, he caught two HUGE silver salmon.

As you can see, He was very proud of himself.
So since we don't eat much salmon at all, and the guys were leaving, Cam decided to smoke some. He really enjoyed himself out in the front yard, in the sunshine, being a man..

The Next day daddy left so we took some pics of our little family, daddy on the boat, and it sailing away...

We even got a picture of the two of us before little man was woken up.

Here is daddy on his boat. He is the only one looking at us. Can you find him?

Bye Bye Daddy !!
See You Soon.
Until our next update....

Sunday Park

AS PROMISED...here is a video of the walking boy..:-) It took me a while but i got it to FINALLY work. I still can not get over the fact that little man is going to be turning 1 here in a few days. I can't believe my sweet little angel has turned into this big little boy. :-( It makes this mama sad.

We went from this to this.
I can not believe it. I remember how happy i was when he sat up by himself for the first time.

We actually had a GORGEOUS day here in Kodiak on Sunday. We went to the park with my friend Kali and her little boy Iain. Matthew had a LOT of fun just exploring all over the place.
However, he does NOT like the swings.
I don't get it but that's ok. Maybe when daddy get's back we will try it again.
:-D Other then that we got a lot of cute pics so i picked the best ones.

He kept trying to figure out what was on top of this play structure. He looks like he was jumping, even though we haven't figured it out yet. :-)

Then we figured out we weren't going to get up on top so he went back to playing with the steering wheel. It had these silver balls in it that made LOTS of noise when you turned it.
He loved it. :-)

After he got a little bored at the wheel, he thought he would walk away and explore some more. He didn't factor in the BRIGHT SUN we had that day. He isn't used to it. :-) So i got to snap this adorable face! Of course, now this his is favorite face to make no matter what now. It makes him look more and more like daddy too. :-)

Updates again soon..:-)

So Matthew is MAJORLY walking. He is just cruising around now. :-) It's amazing to see how well he can walk now, in less then two weeks! Sometimes he tries to run but it doesn't always work out for him, but he picks himself up and keeps going. :-) My big tough guy. He even tried climbing the baby gate today. Oi... I've been trying to upload a video of him on here but it keeps timing out. I will keep trying though so keep checking back. :-)

We started going back to church 2weeks ago.
Matthew is old enough now to handle the nursery [since there is NO way he would be able to sit through the service.] He is far to squirmy to sit still for over an hour. All we get is compliments on how good matthew is and how well he plays with the other babies. He is always happy an bubbly and I always hear comments like that though. Sorry if im being a little conceited, buttttt he is an adorable little man, even when he is throwing his tantrums. I think, the toughest part of being a stay at home mom is how attached Matthew is to me. If I leave the room, he freaks out! He will stand at the gate that blocks off the kitchen and stairway from the living room, scream, and shake the gate until I either pick him up and bring him in with me or I climb back over the gate and play with him again. It's tiring on your body and a little bit on your soul: to be wanted and needed 24-7 by someone. It is worth it in the end. :-)

He loves spending time with his daddy though. Cameron loves to get on the floor and crawl around Matthew and Matthew just giggles and laughs so hard, I wonder if his little body can handle it. It makes me sad to think about Matthew not being able to be around his daddy all the time like he has been the last 5 weeks. :-( Daddy leaves again in a week-ish [for security reasons i can't say exactly when] and I don't know if going to be harder on daddy or even Matthew. :-( He just adores Cameron and i think the feeling is mutual.

I got my hair cut the other day though. I had to get my bangs trimmed up and i put a bunch of layers in it, since i have been trying to grow my hair out. I was originally going to cut it shorter because I am tired of either putting it in a ponytail or straighten it straight. I figured if i cut it shorter i might be able to do something different with it. The salon girl talked me into something else and it ended up being really nice and something not only I enjoyed but something Cameron was pleased with. :-)

almost one year

It is amazing to me how much Matthew has grown in just the last 2 weeks. He went from taking little steps to full on walking around the living room. He still can't go from sitting and crawling to standing yet but he can pull himself up and then walk around. It's so cute because he gets so excited that he is walking that he bobbles around and then falls. I love it. :-) He has had some mishaps though. He was dancing to some music the other day, while opening a drawer on our desk. He got so excited he slammed the drawer into his left eye and it swelled up a little bit. Cam was a little worried but he is fine now. Left a little mark, but he is a-ok.

He also has 6 teeth. He has four on top and two on the bottom. He was pretty cranky with the last two that came in. Overall he has been really good with teething.
He eats more food all by himself all the time now. His favorite food is still green beans and carrots. :-) he isn't that fond of pasta. He just pokes at the noodles and then, when i try to put a noodle in his mouth, he gags like he is choking, and pushes the noodle out of his mouth. Its hilarious.

He also has decided that this monkey he has, is his new best friend. He even has to hold it when he eats. I try taking it away and he throws a fit until i give it back.

We had blueberry pancakes the other morning. He loved them. Unfortunately, his behind didn't enjoy them so much. So we are going to hold off for now till he gets a little older.

MATHEWS WALKING!

Yes he is moving and grooving now. This video doesn't show it that great because it was right before nap time BUT he is definitely more mobile now. I'll update more later but I just wanted to get this out there to the people that don't get to see him. :-)

ps. His head gets bigger everyday too. :-)

So matthew is getting bigger everyday, as u can see. :-)
We have been trying TONS of new foods since we have been home.
We tried, watermelon, blueberry muffins, yogurt, and pretty much anything else mommy can put into the food processor.
I got tons of pictures of the funny funny faces he makes when he eats them.

We went and had coffee with our friend christine the other day at this cute little coffee shop called Java Flatts. Matthew had a great time and couldnt stop staring at christine. He is quite the ladies man, what can i say. :-)

In a month from now, matthew will be 1 year old, and sometimes i can't believe it. I can still see him as the teenie tiny orange baby he used to be. :-) Everyday reaching Higher and higher to be a big boy. I can't believe it. Wh
