So matthew is getting bigger everyday, as u can see. :-)
We have been trying TONS of new foods since we have been home.
We tried, watermelon, blueberry muffins, yogurt, and pretty much anything else mommy can put into the food processor.
I got tons of pictures of the funny funny faces he makes when he eats them.






We went and had coffee with our friend christine the other day at this cute little coffee shop called Java Flatts. Matthew had a great time and couldnt stop staring at christine. He is quite the ladies man, what can i say. :-)







In a month from now, matthew will be 1 year old, and sometimes i can't believe it. I can still see him as the teenie tiny orange baby he used to be. :-) Everyday reaching Higher and higher to be a big boy. I can't believe it. Wh

Since we have been home.

So, Cameron got home a little over a week ago.
We missed him. We always go meet daddy at the pier and we follow his boat around thre base island all the way in. Here's a pic his boat coming in through the rain and fog. Yes mommy and baby are troopers to watch all this outside and in the rain. :-) After awhile, matthew started getting colder so i had to do what i had to do: Put him inside my jacket with me. :-) My GF Kali caught a pic of it. Whatta u think???



The day after he got home we went to a place called monashka creek. We had a bunch fun watching the wind blow through the reeds, the eagles fly, the fish swim, and daddy try to catch some fish. Matthew was rather amazed at his daddy trying to fish. It had to have been one of the funniest face little man has ever made. :-)


This was one of the first times Cameron got to use his new fly-fishing rod that his dad got him for christmas, so he was pretty excited to use it. He was so excited, he prayed God would let him catch a fish.






While Daddy was fishing, we took some pics of other stuff and watched some fish on a bridge out there.There was some pretty cool trees out there. This one was an old stump that had come out of the ground. It's one of my favorite pics of that day.



At the very end of the day, when were driving back home, we passed a huge part of the hill where a picture of john wayne was painted on. I thought this was SUPER cool so of course, i took a picture. At the end of the day, it was a pretty fun little trip. Even if daddy didn't catch any fish.

Where does the time go??

Hey all. Seriously though, where does the time go. Here it is July 15th and I swear, it feels like i was pregnant with Matthew, finding out what he was just last week. It's truly amazing how much they can grow and take over your life
. He is growing like a weed! He turned 10 months old last week. He looks like such a big boy, and he thinks he is too. I like to say he is 10 months going on 5 yrs. LoL He throws temper tantrums just like a big kid would. He even goes as far as to throw himself on the floor, throw his hands up in the air, and slam them back down screaming, crying, and carrying on. At first i laughed at this, but now it's getting old. I have to ignore him, because if he even thinks im paying attention to this display he will keep it going till i give him what he wants. Can we say a little bit spoiled? It doesn't help that everyone thinks he is adorable and they give all the attention he wants. He "performs" for other people, and then when its just mommy and daddy, he really shows his true colors. HaHa But we love him and i couldn't ask for a more perfect little man. :-D He is crawling all over the place too. I have to be fifteen steps ahead of him so i can get rid of stuff before he gets to them. He can find anything. I think he grew in the last month we've been at my moms too, because i swear he reach things he couldn't when we first got here. :-) Its amazing. We did have a sad time when My dear Kodiak friends, Paul Gina and Mikey transferred out. They all became quite attached to Matthew and him to them so it was a pretty sad day. It didn't affect Matthew at all u know, but mommy was pretty sad. Cameron is gone again so MiMi and PaPa flew us out for Great Grandma Barbara's 80th BD. It was pretty amazing to see all of us Gutfelds together, especially since it was the first time for a lot of people to meet Matthew. They all thought he was precious and he behaved so well. He met at least over 30 people and he just hammed it up. Have i mentioned he likes being the center of attention? ;-) We spent fourth of July in So-Cal and Matthew loooooved all the fireworks. He is definitely inheriting his daddy's love of pyrotechnics. People were setting off fireworks all over the place and doing crazy things and Matthew just though it was funny. He loooves fire apparently. Lol He also finally get to meet a few of mommy and daddy's friend that he didnt get to meet last time we came out. Uncle spencer thought he was pretty darn amazing and i think the feeling was mutual. Daddy will be happy to know his best friend pretty much loves his kid. :-) We werent able to see Auntie Kirsten and Uncle Lucas but next time we definitely will. :-) We were also able to stop by my aunt peggy and uncle henry's house in King City. We finally got to meet my cousin bridget's little girl Ella. We snapped a few shots and let me tell you, Can we say Adorable!!!

Recents...

Well, cameron got underway on wednesday. I think matthew knows too, because all he does is say da da, da da. He doesnt even mumble other things. He is so focused on da da. Poor baby. This time, for some reason, it sucked. I was way more emotional then i thought i would be. I think, its because its starting the downward spiral of my friends leaving me.

First, Melissa and Liam left to move to Hawaii. That was so hard. I was ok, until Liam reached out to give Gina a hug and then i lost it. Im going to miss those two so much. MElissa was the type of friend that you could be goofy with, and not feel judged at all. She is quite the diva but i love that about her and she could always make me bust a gut laugh at least once, everytime we hung out, no matter what. i will miss her more then i think she realizes.

Then my first friend here in Kodiak, Becca, is moving to Texas on the 15th. We have been very close, very far apart, up, and down. Through it all, I wil cherish her friendship. Im going to miss watching her grow as a woman and, soon, as a mother. I hope that life gets better for her and that she realizes that she doesnt have to please anyone but herself and that she is worth so much more then she thinks. I hope she learns from her mistakes, grows from her hardships, and becomes the great mother i know she will be. :-D

On the 20th, my best friend Gina will be moving to Georgia. Im not prepared for this at all yet. I keep not focusing on it because I dont know how im going to handle it. she has been there for me through everything that i have gone through in the last 2 years. Not only do i adore her, my son thinks the sun rises and sets around her. Im so glad that Im flying home to my parents house the day after she leaves. It will help distract me. I love this girl more then i have ever loved any other friend. She is like a part of my family. I could not have gotten through, my pregnancy, being a first time mom, losing frienships, and rebuilding them as well. There are no words to describe my gratitude for her being brought into my life. I can't think about her leaving because, even now, i begin to tear up.


anyways, I'll be ok. Im glad i have my friends back home, to help me get through this, and i have the two remaining friends here that get to transfer with me next year. :-) I wouldnt be able to stay so positive without them. :-D

Ok... so needless to say its been a VERY long time since i updated. October to be exact. Since then, TONS has happened. Im not going to bore u with all the details so I'll just tell u about the best part...

Matty is now 7 months old and he is crawling, pulling himself up on things and moving all over the place. We had to get a baby gate and sequester him in the living room because we have stairs, the cat box, and the cat food all downstairs and baby accessable. He likes to chase Roxy around the house, even if its around and around in a circle. It's adorable. He truely is the love of my life. U really don't know what true joy is until u bring a life into this world. Knowing that He is half of me and half of Cameron is so amazing and wonderful to watch. It's as if he grows like ten inches everyday. Im waiting for him to look like me a little more (he does have my eyes!!!) but alas he looks more and more like Cameron's son everyday. There is no denying that Matty is his. He truely is ADORABLE!!!! Its so fun to watch the two of them playing and interacting with each other. Matty can say da da da and cameron gets elated. Of course Matty thinks that Im da da, the tv is da da, even the cat is da da, but still in Camerons world its his first word. Whatever keeps cameron happy i guess. LoL

well since baby is sleeping for now, im going to go and read. Ill try to update more frequently, now that im more settled.

tired...

so I have decided to transition Matty into his crib to sleep. We have a video monitor that Robyn's mom gave us so i can not only hear him in his room but i can also see him. Its definitely comforting. Unfortunately, i picked a time where he isnt sleeping very well because he is going through a growth spurt. He will sleep for like an hour or less and then want to eat every hour. I know it would be easier if he was in the bed with me [he has a co sleeper bed that goes in our bed]. But with Cameron coming home in like 4ish weeks, i want matthew in his own room. :-) Someone told me that babies dont like to be in their own room when they are little is because they spent the last nine months attached to us [in the womb]and then they get ripped away as soon as they get out. They apparently can smell our scents. I dont know if that is true, but i know that isnt why he is fussy at night. This is day two of it and both nights he slept for 3.4-5 hours straight through. He was up every other hour after that but thats cuz he was hungry. Now he is sleeping again.

I also started taking fenugreek. Its an herbal supplement that is supposed to help increase your milk supply. I know im not making alot. After every feed, matty seems sooo hungry still. We will see. A girl i know andrea took it and within 24 hours her milk was overflowing. Hopefully that will be the case. The only time he seems satisfied after a feed is i skip breastfeeding for a feed or 2 and just give him formula then the next time he can feed on the breast and get everything he needs. oh how trying this breast feeding thing is. I am not going to be doing it for that much longer either.. i can just tell me and him both get sressed out.. No one tells you about the things you have to decide when you have a baby. Everyone has an opinion about it and feels like they have to voice it. Especially people who have never had a baby, or plan on having a baby, or have even ever been around babies. its soo aggravating. It would be like me giving advice to some one about welding a pipe together. I have no idea how to do anything like that..lol


other then that nothing else is going on.
